New trailers week 38-39 (November 10-23)

  • Madame Web: the upcoming superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is intended to be the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and is directed by S. J. Clarkson from a screenplay by Clarkson and Claire Parker. The film stars Dakota Johnson in the title role, alongside Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet. It follows Cassandra Webb / Madame Web, a clairvoyant whose psychic abilities allow her to see within the ‘spider world’. In this first trailer we also get a first look at Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor and Isabela Merced as Spider-Women. Madame Web is releasing in theatres on February 14, 2024.
  • What If…? season 2: the second season of the animated Marvel series based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. Just like in the first season, we will have The Watcher, voiced by Jeffrey Wright, keeping a close eye on unique variants of characters from films like Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange. We will get nine new stories from alternate timelines in the multiverse that show what would happen if major moments from the MCU films occurred differently. This second season which consists of nine episodes is premiering on Disney+ on December 22 with a new episode releasing daily.
  • Arthur The King: a new adventure film directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by Michael Brandt. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, Juliet Rylance, Ali Suliman, Rob Collins, and Michael Landes. It is based on the 2016 non-fiction book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home by Mikael Lindnord. In the film, we follow Lindnord, the captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, who befriends a wounded stray dog named Arthur. The dog accompanies the team on a grueling 400-mile endurance race through the Ecuadorian jungle. The film is releasing in theatres on March 22, 2024.
  • The Garfield Movie: the upcoming animated comedy film based on Jim Davis’s comic strip Garfield. Directed by Mark Dindal from a screenplay written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds, the film stars Chris Pratt as the voice of the titular character, alongside the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang. The film follows Garfield, the world-famous, lasagna-loving indoor cat and his canine friend Odie who, after an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father Vic, are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist. The Garfield Movie is releasing in theatres on May 24, 2024.
  • Role Play: a new thriller film directed by Thomas Vincent, written by Seth Owen, and produced by and starring Kaley Cuoco. David Oyelowo, Bill Nighy, and Connie Nielsen also star in the film. It follows a married couple whose lives are turned upside down when secrets are revealed about their pasts. The film is releasing on Prime Video on January 12, 2024.
  • Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the upcoming fantasy series created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, based on the book series of the same name by Riordan. Walker Scobell stars as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. It follows Percy Jackson, a young demigod and son of Poseidon. After the films now we’re getting this new series which is premiering on Disney+ on December 20.
  • Imaginary: a new supernatural horror film directed and produced by Jeff Wadlow and written by Wadlow, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. The film stars DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcón and Betty Buckley. Produced by Jason Blum, it follows Jessica, who returns to her childhood home with her family where she finds her old stuffed bear, Chauncey, and that her stepdaughter Alice has grown attached to it. After Alice’s behavior becomes concerning and the games that she and Chauncey play turn increasingly sinister, Jessica starts realizing that Chauncey is much more than the stuffed bear she believed him to be for all those years. The film is releasing in theatres on March 8, 2024.
  • Anyone But You: a new romantic comedy film directed by Will Gluck, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ilana Wolpert. The film stars Sydney Sweeney, Glen Powell, Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, and Rachel Griffiths. It follows two people who despise one another, but can’t seem to get away from the other while they vacation in Sydney. Anyone but You is releasing in theatres on December 22.
