  • Thelma the Unicorn: a new animated musical adventure comedy film written by Jared and Jerusha Hess and directed by Jared Hess and Lynn Wang. Based on the children’s book series of the same name by Aaron Blabey, the film stars the voices of Brittany Howard, Will Forte, Jemaine Clement, Edi Patterson, Fred Armisen, Zach Galifianakis, Jon Heder and Shondrella Avery. The film marks the acting debut of Howard. It follows a pony named Thelma who dreams of becoming a singer. In order to achieve her dream, she pretends to be a unicorn, garnering her fame and attention. Thelma the Unicorn is releasing on Netflix on May 17.
  • A Man in Full: A new drama limited series created by David E. Kelley and directed by Regina King and Thomas Schlamme. It’s based on Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name and stars Jeff Daniels in the lead role as Charlie Croker alongside Diane Lane, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Tom Pelphrey, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill, Chanté Adams, Lucy Liu, Bill Camp and Evan Roe. Business and political interests collide when Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker defends his empire from those wanting to capitalize on his sudden bankruptcy and fall from grace. The series consists of six episodes and is releasing on Netflix on May 2.
  • Sweet Tooth season 3: the third and last season of the fantasy drama series developed by Jim Mickle, which is based on the comic book series created by Jeff Lemire and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. Christian Convery is back as Gus, a part-deer boy, alongside Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Naledi Murray and Dania Ramirez. In this last season Gus, Jepperd and his other hybrid friends he met in the previous seasons, are embarking for an adventure to Alaska to find Gus’ mother. This new season’s events are leading to a thrilling climax that will determine the fate of humanity and hybrids. Season 3 of Sweet Tooth is releasing on Netflix on June 6.
  • Transformers One: a new animated science fiction film based on the Transformers toyline by Hasbro and Takara Tomy. It serves as the eighth installment in the Transformers film series and is directed by Josh Cooley and written by Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, Steve Desmond, and Michael Sherman. The ensemble voice cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, and Steve Buscemi. The film is described as an origin story set on the planet Cybertron and will center on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron going from brothers-in-arms to archenemies. The film is releasing in theatres on September 20.
  • Hit Man: a new romantic action comedy film produced and directed by Richard Linklater, who co-wrote the screenplay with Glen Powell. It is based on the 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article of the same name by Skip Hollandsworth. The film stars Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, and Molly Bernard. It follows an undercover Houston police officer who poses as a reliable hitman as he tries to save a woman in need. Hit Man premiered at the Venice International Film Festival last year and is releasing in select theatres before streaming on Netflix on June 7.
  • Trap: an upcoming psychological thriller film directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan. The film stars Josh Hartnett as a serial killer dubbed ‘The Butcher’ who joins his daughter at a concert for pop star Lady Raven. He realizes the concert is a trap set by the police to catch him. Ariel Donoghue stars as The Butcher’s daughter Jody and Saleka Shyamalan as Lady Raven. Trap is releasing in theatres on August 9.
