  • Horizon: An American Saga: the new two-part American epic Western film produced and directed by Kevin Costner, who also co-wrote the film with Jon Baird. The film stars Kevin Costner along with an ensemble cast consisting of Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, Ella Hunt, Jamie Campbell Bower and Thomas Haden Church. Set in the American Civil War period the film depicts the expansion of the American west. Described as a two-part film event, Chapter 1 premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last week on May 19 and is releasing in theatres on June 28, while Chapter 2 will be released on August 16.
  • Longlegs: the new horror thriller film written and directed by Osgood Perkins. It stars Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt and Blair Underwood. The film focuses on Lee Harker, a new FBI agent, who has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated with occult evidence uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder. The film is releasing in theatres on July 12.
  • Am I Ok?: a new comedy-drama film directed by Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne and written by Lauren Pomerantz. It stars Dakota Johnson, Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael, Tig Notaro, and Sean Hayes. It follows Lucy, a 32-year-old woman living in Los Angeles, who realizes that all her dates with men are unsuccessful because she is a lesbian. With the help of her lifelong best friend Jane, she attempts to navigate coming out and dating women in her 30s. The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and is releasing on Max on June 6.
  • My Lady Jane: an upcoming British series starring Emily Bader, Edward Bluemel and Jordan Peters. The series is adapted by Gemma Burgess from a series of novels that provided a historical reimagining of the life of Lady Jane Grey, written by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows, that began with My Lady Jane in 2016. Set in the 16th century we follow Lady Jane Grey who avoids the executioner’s axe and has a fun and fulfilling life, full of romance and adventure. The series will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June and is releasing on Amazon Prime Video on June 27.
  • Trigger Warning: an upcoming action thriller film directed by Mouly Surya in her English-language film debut, and written by Halley Gross, Josh Olson and John Brancato. The film stars Jessica Alba, Anthony Michael Hall, Mark Webber, Jake Weary, Tone Bell. The film follows a skilled Special Forces officer who takes ownership of her grandfather’s bar shortly after he dies, and soon finds herself at odds with the violent gang running rampant in her hometown. The film is releasing on Netflix on June 21.
  • Sweet Tooth season 3: we got a final trailer for the third and last season of the fantasy drama series Sweet Tooth, developed by Jim Mickle, which is based on the comic book series created by Jeff Lemire and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. Christian Convery is back as Gus, a part-deer boy, alongside Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Naledi Murray and Dania Ramirez. In this last season Gus, Jepperd and his other hybrid friends he met in the previous seasons, are embarking for an adventure to Alaska to find Gus’ mother. This new season’s events are leading to a thrilling climax that will determine the fate of humanity and hybrids. Season 3 of Sweet Tooth is releasing on Netflix on June 6.
  • Presumed Innocent: an upcoming legal thriller miniseries created by David E. Kelley, based on the 1987 novel of the same name by Scott Turow. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle and Lily Rabe. It tells the story of a prosecutor who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of one of his colleagues. The miniseries is premiering on Apple TV+ on June 12.
    Harold and the Purple Crayon: an upcoming live-action/animated fantasy film directed by Carlos Saldanha in his live-action directorial debut from a screenplay written by David Guion and Michael Handelman. Based on the 1955 children’s book of the same name written by Crockett Johnson, the film stars Zachary Levi in the titular role, with Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, and Zooey Deschanel in supporting roles. The film follows adventurous Harold who can make anything come to life simply by drawing it inside of his book, After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life – and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own. The film is releasing in theaters on August 2.
  • Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F: an upcoming action comedy film directed by Mark Molloy, written by Will Beall, Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, from a story by Beall. Serving as the fourth installment in the Beverly Hills Cop film series, Eddie Murphy (who also produces) reprises his role as Axel Foley, with Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot reprising their roles from previous films in the franchise, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, and Kevin Bacon star in new roles. It follows Axel Foley who has returned to Beverly Hills after his daughter Jane’s life is threatened. She and Axel team up with her ex-boyfriend, and his old pals John Taggart and Billy Rosewood to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy. The film is releasing on Netflix on July 3.
  • Descendants: The Rise of Red: an upcoming musical fantasy film directed by Jennifer Phang from a screenplay by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. Produced by Disney Channel, the film will be the fourth in the Descendants franchise, being a spin-off of the previous three films. Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker star in the roles of Red (daughter of Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland) and Chloe Charming (daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming from Cinderella), respectively. China Anne McClain and Melanie Paxton reprise their roles of Uma and Fairy Godmother, respectively, from previous Descendants films. Cinderella and King Charming are played by Brandy and Paolo Montalban, who previously played versions of the characters in the 1997 television adaptation of Cinderella. It follows Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, daughter of Cinderella and King Charming, who team up to travel in time with the White Rabbit’s pocketwatch to undo a traumatic event that caused the Queen of Hearts to go down an evil path, in order to prevent her from staging a catastrophic coup of Auradon. The film will debut on July 12 on Disney+ and August 9 on Disney Channel.
  • Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: the upcoming sequel to Beetlejuice (1988), directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. This fantasy horror comedy film stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara reprising their roles alongside new cast members Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is releasing in theatres on September 6.
  • A Sacrifice: an upcoming psychological drama film written and directed by Jordan Scott. It stars Eric Bana, Sadie Sink and Sylvia Hoeks and is an adaptation of Nicholas Hogg’s 2015 novel Tokyo. It follows a psychiatrist who must save his daughter from a cult after she falls in love with a boy whose mother is the leader of that cult. The film is releasing in theatres in the United States on June 28.
