Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: the new post-apocalyptic action adventure film co-produced and directed by George Miller, who co-wrote it with Nico Lathouris. It serves as both a spin-off and a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), and is the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character Imperator Furiosa, with Chris Hemsworth, Lachy Hulme, Nathan Jones, and Tom Burke also starring. The film follows a young Furiosa, who is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants fight for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland. Furiosa was released in theatres in Australia on May 23, and in the United States the following day. I went to see the film last week when it was released and really liked it. It’s as good as Fury Road and full of action, but it’s also funny and tells the beautiful story of Furiosa. Anya and Chris are amazing as Furiosa and Dementus and were made for these roles. If you haven’t seen the film yet, go watch it in theatres, because this is a film you have to see on the big screen.
