Dood Spoor in premiere at Filmfestival Oostende

On Sunday it was time for the premiere of a new series: Dood Spoor. First there was the walk of fame for the creator and writer of the series, Malin-Sarah Gozin, who you may know from the Belgian series Tabula Rasa and Clan. She also is an executive producer of the series Bad Sisters, which is based on her series Clan. She was there with her daughter who helped her unveil her star. She was very happy with her star, especially because this time it was not for an actor, like it is most of the time, but for a writer.

Then it was time for the red carpet of Dood Spoor, but also from other films premiering at the festival that night. Peter van Rodijnen en Arnout Hauben were there to present their new documentary De Wilde Noordzee, director Koya Kamura for his film Winter in Sokcho and artist Michaël Borremans, who has a role as a doctor in Queer, was also there.

The cast and crew of the film Soft Leaves was also present for the premiere of the film, which I will see later this week. Last night I saw the first two episodes of the new series Dood Spoor from Malin-Sarah Gozin, who was there with the cast and crew of the series. Peter Van den Begin, who plays the lead role in the series was here along with Hans Vercauter, Elise Schaap, Ward Kerremans, Marjan De Schutter, Emilie De Roo, Jesse Bo Gebruers, Lisah Adega , ZouZou Ben Chicka, Hakim Chatar, Martine Jonckheere, Chris Nietvelt, Flor Van Severen, Mieke Verdin, Brett Bear, Dave Finkel, Dimitri Verbeeck and Bert Hamelinck.

They showed the first two episodes of Dood Spoor and really liked it. It’s a dark comedy, just like we know from Gozin, in which we follow Ed Bex, a special gifted grief counselor, who faces a moral dilemma when putting his peculiar talent at the service of a mysterious murder investigation. I look forward to the rest of the episodes that are releasing later this month on Streamz and on tv in Belgium.
