Six To See February 2-March 1, 2026

Since the Filmfestival of Oostende I had more work to do and more articles to write, because I started as a regional journalist again, this time for the Krant van West-Vlaanderen. I didn’t had a lot of time for Six To See the last few weeks, but I still wrote about the new releases and now I can finally publish it. I’m starting with the best releases of the month of February. The best releases of March are also coming and starting this week I will be back every Monday with the new Six To See of the week.

Six Films To See:

  1. Crime 101: a crime thriller film starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, and Halle Berry. It is written and directed by Bart Layton, based on the 2020 novella by Don Winslow. The film also features Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte. The story follows a sophisticated jewel thief who commits a series of robberies along California’s Highway 101. His crimes follow a strict personal code he calls “Crime 101”, which has kept him from being caught for years. The thief, eyeing his final score, encounters a disillusioned insurance broker at her own crossroads. As their paths intertwine, a relentless detective trails them hoping to thwart the multi-million dollar heist they are planning. Crime 101 premiered in London on January 28, and was released in theatres on February 13. Since April 1st the film is also available on Prime Video.
  1. Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die: a science fiction comedy film directed by Gore Verbinski and written by Matthew Robinson. It marks Verbinski’s first feature film in almost a decade. The film stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Asim Chaudhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple. It follows a man from the future who travels to the past to recruit patrons of a Los Angeles diner to help combat a rogue artificial intelligence. Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die premiered at the 2025 Fantastic Fest and was released in the United States and Canada on February 13. It had its European premiere as a Special Gala screening at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in February and was released in several more countries in February and in even more countries this past month.
  1. GOAT: an animated sports comedy film directed by Tyree Dillihay. Caleb McLaughlin stars as Will Harris, an anthropomorphic goat who aspires to become the greatest of all time at a basketball-like sport known as roarball. Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour, Nick Kroll, Jenifer Lewis, Patton Oswalt, Jelly Roll, Jennifer Hudson, Sherry Cola, Eduardo Franco, Andrew Santino and Bobby Lee also star, alongside basketball player Stephen Curry (who also produced) in his film debut. Goat was released in theatres on February 13.
  1. Wuthering Heights: a romantic period drama film produced, written and directed by Emerald Fennell. Loosely based on the 1847 novel by Emily Brontë, the film was intended by Fennell to “recreate the feeling of a teenage girl reading this book for the first time”. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi respectively star as Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, alongside Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell in supporting roles. Wuthering Heights was released in theatres on February 13. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but has achieved box office success, grossing $239 million worldwide.
  1. Scream 7: the seventh film in the Scream-franchise and a sequel to Scream VI (2023). This slasher film is directed by Kevin Williamson from a screenplay he co-wrote with Guy Busick, stars Neve Campbell, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Courteney Cox reprising their roles from the previous films, with Isabel May, Anna Camp, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Mark Consuelos, Tim Simons, and Joel McHale also starring. The film follows a new Ghostface killer who targets Sidney Prescott’s daughter. Following the exit of Scream (2022) and Scream VI directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett in August 2023, Christopher Landon was hired to direct the seventh Scream film. However, the film went through a creative retooling after the departure of stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega in late 2023, with Landon also leaving the project. In March 2024, Campbell confirmed her return to the franchise after being absent from Scream VI, with Williamson hired to direct Scream 7 after serving as writer and producer of the early films in the series. Scream 7 was released in theatres on February 27. It received negative reviews from critics, but set the record for the highest opening weekend of the franchise.
  1. Cold Storage: a horror comedy film directed by Jonny Campbell from a screenplay by David Koepp based on his 2019 novel of the same name. It stars Georgina Campbell, Joe Keery, and Liam Neeson and follows the attempts at containing a parasitic fungus that leaks out of an abandoned military base. Cold Storage was first released in Mexico and Brazil on January 29. It was later released in the United States on February 13, and in France on February 18. The film received generally positive reviews from critics.

The series follows three close friends from Belfast who receive the news that the estranged fourth member of their teenage friend group has unexpectedly died. 1. Paradise Season 2: the second season of the post-apocalyptic political thriller series created by Dan Fogelman. It stars Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and James Marsden. Season 1 revealed that the supposedly safe underground city called Paradise hides major secrets about the apocalypse and the world outside. Season 2 expands the scope. Xavier (Brown) leaves the bunker and travels across the devastated world searching for his wife Teri, who may still be alive after “The Day”. Back inside Paradise, political tensions grow and new secrets about the bunker’s origins and its billionaire creator begin to surface. The season alternates between Xavier surviving outside among new groups of survivors and the increasingly unstable society inside Paradise. New cast members in season 2 are Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, Michael McGrady, and Patrick Fischler. Season 2 of Paradise premiered on February 23 on Disney+ with the first three episodes. The last episode was just released last week.
  1. The Night Agent Season 3: the third season of the action thriller series created by Shawn Ryan. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk and stars Gabriel Basso in the title role. The series continues the story of FBI agent Peter Sutherland. After the events of Season 2, Peter is now fully working as a Night Agent, operating in high-risk international missions. Season 3 begins with him investigating a Treasury agent who fled to Istanbul with classified financial intelligence after killing his supervisor. What initially looks like a rogue-agent case soon reveals a global dark-money conspiracy tied to terrorism financing and powerful political figures. The investigation takes Peter across several countries while he tries to uncover who is secretly funding extremist groups, stop assassins hired to silence witnesses, and expose corruption inside the U.S. government itself. Season 3 of The Night Agent was released on February 19 on Netflix. It was already renewed for a fourth season.
  1. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2: the second season of the monster series created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction. Based on Godzilla by Toho Co., Ltd, it is the sixth installment and second television series in the Monsterverse franchise. Following the events of Godzilla (2014), the series follows members of the Monarch organization as they encounter Godzilla and other monsters called Titans, across a half century. The series stars Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, alongside Wyatt Russell and Kurt Russell in the shared role of Lee Shaw. 1. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4: the fourth season of the legal drama series created by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey. It’s based on the books of Michael Connelly and stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, a defense attorney in Los Angeles who often works out of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Navigator. The fourth season is based on the sixth book in the series, The Law of Innocence, and was released on February 5 on Netflix. This season flips the show’s formula: Mickey Haller is charged with murder after a body is found in his car. Instead of defending a client, he becomes the client. He chooses to defend himself in court, raising the stakes dramatically. The Lincoln Lawyer was already renewed for a fifth season, which will be based on the seventh book in the series, Resurrection Walk.
  1. 56 Days: a new thriller series developed by Karyn Usher and Lisa Zwerling. Based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2022 novel of the same name, and executive produced by James Wan, the series stars Avan Jogia, Dove Cameron, Karla Souza, and Dorian Crossmond Missick. It alternates between two timelines, following Oliver and Ciara’s relationship after meeting in a supermarket, and 56 days later, when a corpse is found in their apartment with two detectives trying to uncover what happened. 56 Days was released on Prime Video on February 18.
